May 5th - June 4th 2022
To be opened by Lewis Miller, artist, Archibald winner and official war artist to the Iraq conflict.
Winner of the 2015 NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize, Evan Salmon’s pared back compositions are alive with an urgency arising from the plein air process. Motifs culled from the most ordinary of subjects eloquently remind us that we live in the most extraordinary of worlds – a world imaginatively transformed and returned to us through these jewel-like works.
Exhibiting extensively in NSW over several decades, this is Salmon’s debut solo Melbourne exhibition. His work is held in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, State Library of NSW, University of Wollongong, NSW Parliament and many others.
