This is a small Australian landscape painting in the Bowl at Falls creek. A related work of the same subject is Summit T-bar Fine Weather. This one is painted fast, as you can tell from the brushstrokes depicting the masses of snow gums which divide up the picture and create the form of the mountain. Speed is an important  factor in painting, there is no ‘correct’ speed, but each brushstroke will hold evidence of how it was applied. Slow deliberate strokes tell a different kind of story. The colour of snow in sunlight and shade is an enticing challenge. More on how other artists have tackled this here.
